Character is character. Not reputation.

My 2 bits.

Proverbs 10:9 - He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

No matter how polished I seemed on the outside, those in my immediate circle knew what my Sprirt man was like, and whether or not I spent time with Jesus. My default was a double-minded man that was given to worldly and fleshly desires and pursued in pride nothing worth anything. I was angry, bitter, and upset with myself not because of circumstances, but because I knew I was doing everything in my flesh and apart from the Holy Spirit.

As I looked around my house and saw the spiritual condition of my relationship with my wife and children, I realized how far I had backslidden from the minister I was, just a few short years prior. Praise God that a scripture woke me up and I realized the dude I didn’t wanna become I became. A Hypocrite!

Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to” (Matthew 23:13)

As I read these words, blood left my body, I became nauseous, and for first time in a long time I thought about my character and how in a few short years, I had sold out for a few thousand dollars.

A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold. Proverbs 22:1

As I saw our family, under financial attack, spiritual attack and relationship attack,

I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me! (Psalms 120:1)

Heard me he did!!! It wasn’t easy as I have shed lots of tears, and have given over to working on my character and in private times, not caring about my outward reputation.

May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you. Psalm 25:21

These attacks happen to the best of us and more often than not, what most men and women of God, care to admit. Take inventory today and see if you’ve invested more in your reputation than you have your character. God wants to give you victory in this area and if he sets you free, others close to you may just follow.

Blindness isn’t just to the lost!

The LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are weighed down. The LORD loves the godly.

Psalm 146:8
